Congratulations to BOSEPO 2026 finalists!
Congratulations on your decision to join BOSEPO! Thousands of students have embarked on this journey of discovery, scientific exploration and creative expression. To help you join this amazing crowd of future pioneers of discovery and innovation, we are sharing the step-by-step guide to registering for BOSEPO.
It all starts with your idea…
Have a scientific question you've always wanted to investigate?
A technical challenge you've been itching to overcome?
Or you wish to address contemporary issues through the power of the visual arts?
Bosnian Science Project Olympiad (BOSEPO) invites young minds from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad to transform their curiosity into real research, innovation or creative projects and present them to their peers and later - the rest if the world!
It’s more than a competition - it’s a chance to connect with like-minded peers, make new friends, and even earn the opportunity to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in many international events across the globe.
Ready to begin?
Check out the timeline and deadlines below, and start sketching out your idea today. The earlier you dive in, the more time you’ll have for your project!
To register for the contest, you must:
be 11–19 years old at the time of evaluation of your project by the jury,
be a resident or citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and/or be enrolled in any public or private school approved by the relevant Ministry of Education,
choose your own topic and develop a research, innovation or creative project in one of the established categories.
International participants may attend BOSEPO if they were selected through their national contest/fair or other type of selection process by an organisation that has a partnership agreement with BOSEPO.
You may submit a project individually or with one partner (international participants may have teams of three students). Project partners do not have to be from same class, year or school, as long as they both belong to the same age division. An overview of age divisions is found below.
You may apply with one scientific and one creative project, too. However, both cannot be done with the same partner. An overview of allowed project combinations is found below.
IMPORTANT: Each participant of BOSEPO must accept all terms and conditions of participation, and strictly adhere to the Code of Conduct.

To register for the contest, you should:
Choose a topic and develop your project.
Choose a mentor. We recommend that your mentor is a teacher of subject relevant to yout project topic. However, your mentor can be any adult - parents, guardians, industry specialists, or a university student. The minimum requirement is that a mentor is 20 years old and at least a first-year university student.
Your mentor has to create a mentor account in our registration system.
Your mentor will then register your project. The following information will be required:
Project title - Make sure it is appropriate and not too long, you can make it catchy or serious - be creative!
School name - If not in the system, let us know by sending an email to info@bosepo.ba (international participants choose their country instead of school name),
Students' data - Names, surnames, and email addresses are needed.
Project materials and documents - Check the requirements in the description of each category.
Check with your mentor to ensure all documents are uploaded in the appropriate format. Avoid uploading materials in the final hours of the registration deadline - the system is usually overloaded with all last-minute submissions and may lag!
Here is what happens after the registration deadline closes:
A panel of experts will review your project documents and decide if it qualifies for the finals. NOTE: International participants qualify directly if they already gone through a selection process by a partner organisation.
The list of finalists is usually published a few days after the deadline. This may be delayed by deadline extensions if the need arises.
If you are announced as a finalist - congratulations! Start preparations for the finals - check the requirements in the description of each category. You may also continue improving your project - but, no new segments can be added!
If you are NOT announced as a finalist - there are a few things you can do:
You may ask for clarification on why your project did not make it to the finals. This can help you gain experience and understand your mistakes - you can improve the project, address the mistakes and apply next year with your improved project!
You may submit a complaint - if you believe there is a legitimate mistake, oversight, or unfair judgment of the project selection panel. Our panel of experts has years of experience in project evaluation, so their judgments are usually final. However, a well-written complaint with valid arguments may lead to reevaluation.
You submit these through our email address: info@bosepo.ba - we will respond to all inquires that are written respectfully and within 5 days of the announcement of finalists.
